ABOUT US – Taunton Community Hub

The Rotary Club of Taunton was chartered in 1922 and has been active in the local community for the whole of this time. We are part of an international organisation whose motto is to put ‘service above self’.

Our Club plays an important part in the lifeblood of our community and  over the last few years we have financially supported many local and national organisations and individuals including; Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance; Children’s Hospice South West; Compass Disability; Reminiscence Learning; Royal Institute for the Blind; Royal National Lifeboat Institute; Tectona Trust; St John Ambulance; Taunton Food Bank; Taunton Festival of Arts; Musgrove Park Hospital Beacon Centre and the League of Friends, to name but a few.

More recently during the Coronavirus pandemic we provided financial help to those in need, including the Taunton YMCA, YMCA Dulverton, Taunton Area Debt Advice, Taunton’s Women’s Refuge, Go-Create, Besom, Somerset’s  young carers and other voluntary sector organisations to name but a few.

Through our sponsorship of The Taunton HUB we aim to work to inspire and motivate community members to work together and become involved in meeting community interests and needs, whether through volunteering, fundraising, project collaboration or other initiatives.

Join us. Become a ‘Friend of Rotary’ and help us build a strong community.
